Southeast Asia is blessed with some of the most beautiful tropical islands on the face of our planet. Pristine and stunningly beautiful, Myanmar Burma’s Mergui Archipelago has over eight hundred tropical islands, scattered throughout an area of some ten thousand square miles, this truly is one of the very few remaining untouched areas on earth and an outstanding location for sea kayaking adventures.
Our sea kayaking adventure holiday in the Mergui Archipelago is a unique tropical island
vacation. Kayaking is the ideal way to explore the islands’ coastlines, bays, inlets and tidal rivers, paddling deep into the rain forest of these ‘Lost islands of Paradise’.
Most of the islands are covered in rain forest, whilst the incredible Myanmar beaches are devoid of humans; the only visitors are turtles and other, mostly nocturnal, wild-life. Not far off the beaches are the coral reefs, which are teeming with life and wonderful for snorkeling in warm, clear waters!
The Mergui Archipelago, Burma Myanmar has a rich history of maritime trade, mysticism and piracy. The modern-day Mergui Archipelago is as it was in days gone by – bar the piracy! Due to the archipelago’s virtual isolation, the islands and surrounding seas are alive with an amazing diversity of wildlife,
flora and fauna.
Some of the creatures we have seen include wild elephants, Flying Foxes, Civet Cats, Gibbons, crab-eating monkeys, wild boar, Monitor Lizards, Turtles, Armadillos and Fruit Bats. Bird-life includes sea eagles, Hornbills and flocks of parrots.
